This was the final performance of the short-lived band Monkey Biz. They were a sort of funk fusion band formed by students in the grade below me during high school, and this performance was at their graduation, which I attended. Right before this they perfomed In My Life by The Beatles with one of their classmates. Funnily enough all three of the bandmembers, who I'm friends with, became part of the punk scene. I recorded their performance with an old 2000s Sony MiniDVD Handycam.
Detention was probably the first short film I actually tried my best to act in. The film was written by Zander Renzi for a class project, and each student in the class had to direct a different scene, although Zander ended up taking the reins for most of the production. My character, Officer Rogers, has an obsession with the Subway brand, and in order to keep that part of the character authentic, my father and I went out and bought a Subway sandwich before school so I could use it as a prop and eat it on the set.
